Lacquer Artists

Artist Statement
Natural, raw lacquer’s character, its molding ability and the method are what interest me. Is it possible to express the feelings of modern people in a pure way by keeping the materials and improving the method? That is a deep turning point for me in some of my experimental works.
Sometimes, in reverting to the so-called “pure native” in lacquer awareness, I find the explored and elaborated space expressed by traditional raw lacquer to be very vast.
The material possesses beauty inherently, and the beauty is greater when it is natural. Expressing the material’s character in greater degrees may lead to works that produce unique beauty and shape fresh ideas, all of which adds fun to the experimental process of creating lacquer art.
